Nikki N. Wood

Nikki N. Wood, co-founder of 270 Media and President of Marin Magazine, was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. She has been in the publishing industry for more than 30 years, starting with Coast Magazine, along with her husband, in 1991, where she served as Publisher and grew the business from start-up to a popular regional publication in the Newport Beach, California area. In 2005, Nikki co-founded Marin Magazine where she managed the day-to-day operations as Publisher and Editorial Director until her retirement in 2020. Retirement did not last long. Favorite Destination: Any road trip with my husband Jim — we’re a perfect match when it comes to travel.

Nikki C. Wood

Co-founder and Group Publisher of 270 Media, Nikki C. Wood is a media and publishing veteran with 30 years in the industry. Having lived in all corners of the U.S. and a few places abroad, traveling is in her blood. Nikki spent nearly a decade as group publisher for the Where Traveler family of products. She took a little less than a year’s break in between to join San Francisco magazine, where she held the titles Publisher and VP of Revenue Strategy. Earlier in her career she was Founder and Publisher of Mazik Media focusing on B2B projects in the tech sector. Favorite Destination(s): Chicago, London and most European cities.

Mimi Towle

Mimi is the co-founder and editorial director of 270 Media. She has created, edited and packaged content for a consumer audience focusing on travel, health and lifestyle issues for magazines, websites and books for over three decades including over ten as editor of Marin Magazine. Mimi grew up in Hawaii and Southern California and loves to explore mostly beach towns up and down the California Coast. And is thrilled to be starting a new business with her mother, Nikki N. Wood and longtime friend, Nikki C. Wood. Favorite Destination: Any beach on any island in Hawaii with a take out plate lunch.

Alex French

Group Production Manager
Since joining Marin Magazine in the beginning of 2006, Alex has worn many hats. All of them she’s enjoyed while being part of a great team. Alex grew up in New York City and moved to Northern California after college. She spends her free time hiking and cooking, as a favorite hobby. Favorite Destination: Paris, where she used to own an apartment many years ago.

Maeve Walsh

Controller
Maeve started with Marin Magazine in February of 2007 and has been an integral part of the team as controller. If you owe us money, she’ll be calling. Born and raised in Ireland, she raised her two daughters along with her husband Tom, in Mill Valley and can be found on the tennis court or mountain when not in the office. Favorite Destination: Brockway Springs Resort in Kings Beach, North Shore Tahoe.

Lesley Cesare

Media Director
Lesley has been with Marin Magazine for 10 years and comes from a background in TV, radio, newspaper and digital platforms. Born and raised in San Francisco and Marin, she loves traveling to far away places but stays closer to home lately. Favorite Destination: Any place in the Wine Country, preferably in the sun.

Matthew Poole

Web Designer / Digital Marketing
Matt has enjoyed a diverse career in the wine, food, travel, and internet industries. As the founder and CEO of the original LocalGetaways.com, he built a back-of-the-napkin business idea into a successful online travel agency. Other executive roles he’s served include Editor in Chief at BBQ.COM, Executive Editor at WineShopper.com, and VP of Marketing at WineCountry.com. Prior to working for internet companies, Matt was one of the bestselling travel book writers in the nation, authoring more than two dozen travel guides. After UCSB Matt did his postgraduate education in Prague as an English tutor, Switzerland as a ski instructor, and Thailand as a scuba instructor. Favorite Destination: The underwater reefs of Palau.

Jessica Gliddon

Group Digital Content Manager
Jessica is a fifth-generation Northern Californian who heads up all things digital at 270 Media. The UC Santa Cruz graduate has worked at Marin Magazine for six years. Before that she worked as an editor and content manager at a design firm in Cape Town, South Africa, heading up client publications, and was the editor of Etihad Airway's airline magazine while she was living in Dubai, traveling the world to cover the airline's destinations. She now lives in San Francisco with her fiancé and her cat. Favorite Destination: Kyoto, Japan. Most beautiful city I've ever been to!

Helena Grant

Digital Marketing Associate
Helena, born and raised in the Bay Area, has a passion for all things marketing. After graduating from Santa Clara University in 2020, Helena worked as a marketing specialist for 3 years at a tech startup in Silicon Valley. Missing the consumer behavior aspect of marketing, Helena turned to 270 Media. Now she manages social, email, and digital marketing for all 4 of our brands — giving her a mix of B2B and B2C marketing. Favorite Destination: Maui, Lake Tahoe, and South of France (anywhere with clear water and a great beach).

Ryan Mastalerz

Art Director
A seasoned Creative/Interactive Director with over 15 years of experience, Ryan specializes in campaign creative, product design, and branding. He has worked in both agency and in-house environments, leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver human-centric experiences with a clean and elegant design aesthetic. Drawing on his visual arts background, he is passionate about teaching and mentoring talent, bringing ideas to life, and fostering a highly collaborative work/play team culture. He has extensive experience working with high-profile accounts such as Intel, Yahoo Sports, eBay, Taco Bell, Sprint, Illinois Lottery, Visa, and Twitter.

Mimi Pinson

Associate Editor
Mimi started with 270 Media in 2023 as an editorial assistant, not long after graduating with a rhetoric degree from UC Berkeley. Her passion for words and all things Bay Area make writing for Marin Magazine and Local Getaways a labor of love. The Marin native covers events, music, arts and culture, nature, food and new business. She has also worked at publications like Dorothy Parker's Ashes, the Daily Californian and Gaucho Marks Magazine. She’s angling to visit Mumbai in the near future.

Emma Robertson

Assistant Editor
Emma’s first experience working with Marin Magazine was as an intern, but she was compelled to continue storytelling here as soon as she graduated from Cal Poly with a journalism degree only a year later. A third-generation Novato local, she has been involved with print media since high school, and is passionate about uplifting the voices of her community. When Emma’s not in the office, she loves to read, go to the gym and cook. Favorite Destination: In Yosemite overlooking the meadows and watching the sun set behind Half Dome.

Sharon Coleman

Senior Account Manager
Sharon was born in San Francisco and graduated with a degree in Broadcast Communication Arts from SFSU. She has spent her career in broadcast, print and visual communications. Sharon has worked as an account executive, producer, voice over and on camera talent. Her experience has given her the unique perspective of understanding what is important to an advertiser as well as the audience. You can still see Sharon occasionally hosting shows and segments on KRON-TV channel 4. Favorite Destination: A park bench in Paris.

Karen Fraser

Senior Account Manager
Karen is a 20 year Marin County resident whose career brought her to the West Coast and spanned a number of national publications. In her spare time, Karen enjoys pilates, pickleball and cheering on her North Carolina Tarheels.

Carolyn Ware

Account Manager
Carolyn graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She has lived in San Francisco and Marin since college and has spent over 30 years representing many local and national brands for both digital and print advertising. Her favorite destinations are the Hawaiian islands and Italy.

Kendall Ardito

Account Manager
Kendall, a San Anselmo native, graduated from Louisiana State University, where she discovered her love for football and the unforgettable energy of Louisiana Saturday nights in Tiger Stadium. Her background includes CPG sales with The Hershey Company. Outside of work, she loves to travel, golf, cheer on LSU (Geaux Tigers!), and follow the Kansas City Chiefs. Her favorite getaways are Lake Tahoe in the summer and a warm beach in the winter.

Hayley Swanson

Hayley graduated from California State University Chico with a Major in Communications and Minor in Public Relations. She grew up in Mill Valley and is passionate about sharing the beautiful gems of Marin County with people from all over! She is incredibly excited to be a part of such a wonderful team. Favorite Destination: Tahoe - the perfect mix of winter and summer, what more could you ask for?

Originally from Honolulu, Alexis and her family now live in the Catskills with a 10-pack of great pyrenees, chickens, geese and sheep.
